Nestled on 260 acres of the most spectacular countryside in southeastern Michigan, Matador Farm, located just outside of Oxford on the grounds of Rattlewood Farm, is the ideal hunter/jumper destination for training and boarding in a welcoming environment. Matador Farm is a full-service, year-round facility dedicated to all aspects of horsemanship and on developing well rounded riders focused on sportsmanship along with state-of-the-art amenities for discerning clients. Whether you are interested in learning to ride, showing as an amateur or top-level competitor or simply looking for a professionally managed farm to board and train at, Matador Farm is the place to be. 

Matador Farm is one of the largest riding schools in the state, offering beginner riders the safety and comfort of a separate facility on property solely devoted to their Beginner Riding School while the novice and advanced lessons take place in the separate main barn facility. Matador Farm is also one of the only schools in state to offer a fully comprehensive riding school lesson program that incorporates tacking expectations with equitation skill in the ring along with trail riding conditioning for all riders. 

Our magnificent property is a peaceful escape from the hectic demands of the day where friends and family meet to build a relationship between horse and rider. Our property boasts all modern amenities necessary for the horse and rider, including 2 large outdoor sand rings with build-in watering systems, 2 fully lit insulated indoor arenas with non-dust footing and movable natural light panels, a grass jumping field, 35 stalls, and 18 turn out paddocks all set amidst rolling hills and wooded areas well maintained for trail riding. Given our proximity to the Metamora Hunt Club, those wishing to pursue fox hunting opportunities are given a chance to explore this long standing riding tradition.
